My dearest daughters and BFF's, Ainslee and Lyssie surprised me for my birthday with cake and flowers!!! Ainslee bought all sorts of flowers for my yard and spent many an hour planting them into all the pots and such, she even did the prep work and cleaned out the flower beds as well .... YAY! She must be taking after her grandma Rosie with that green thumb and all, wow what a great surprise that was and what a sweet idea.

Little miss Lyssie-Lu stirred me a b-e-a-u-tiful chocolate mud birthday cake...mmmmmmm :)

Everyone near and dear to our hearts knows us and knows how much Dustin and I love to climb. A couple of months ago we lost a dear friend and climbing partner whom we loved very much. There is a little group of us that have spent many days and nights up at the City or Castle Rocks together. Many a climbing tales were shared around a campfire until the wee hours of the morning. There are so many endless memories that it is hard to begin...
This was after a hard day of climbing at Castle Rocks, we were headed out enjoying the view! Matt, Kierra, and Brandon.

This picture is of us doing absolutely nothing...it was labor day weekend and we kept getting rained out so we spent a lot of time in camp just listening to music and chillin. Matt, Kevin, Neal, and Brandon *in the dirt*

Mr. Brandon has become a regular part of our climbing family and he endlessly begs me to wear my harness! Which I allowed him to do, JUST THIS ONCE!
On this day a few of us went up to climb and just be together. The climb we ended up being on is called "hairstyles and attitudes" which was perfect considering the events and who we were there for!

So I have decided not to bombard the blog with tons of posts...but I have so much to share, it has been a whirlwind last few weeks. I have decided to blog in small doses the next little while to catch everyone up on our lives! Hopefully it will make up for all of my slacking!

The kids were getting ready for school this lovely morning when all of a sudden there was a blur of comotion and Alyssa ran out of the house, so I followed her to see where she was running to and this is what I found!

The three of them were jumping away and apparently Lyssie dressed herself before going out for some fun! I think that I have an up-and-coming fashionista on my hands! I just hope she doesn't expect me to take her out in public looking like that!

Okay Shawnae...I know I have been terrible at the blogging thing but it has been a crazy month...I have worked 27 days in a row and I am seriously questioning my sanity at this point...so blogging has been the last thing on my mind! :) Here are a few photos of me and the rest of our radiology class...we have 13.4 days left of the radiology program and are a little bit excited at the prospect of being done! WAHOO!

Family Ski Day

We finally got the whole family together for a "fun-filled" ski day. Colton and Alyssa have never been so Dustin and I decided it was time to teach them...Alyssa did awesome following her dad down the hill, by the end of the day she didn't even want him to follow her up the hill...she was adamant that she could ride up the magic carpet and ski down the hill entirely by herself. She probably could've despite her overprotectivew mother..."better to be safe than sorry!"

Colton had a blast..he played on the bunny hill for a while then Dusty took him up the lift. When they made it back down he was not moving so well..apparently he was afraid to turn so he just flew down the hill until he wrecked tumbling head-over-heel, a little bit of road rash to the face later, a wounded wrist and ribs...a bit of a break and he was ready to hit it again..this time making turns all the way down the hill. By the end of the day he was making runs just as much as the older girls.

Taylor is quite the "boarder" this seems funny to me and probably anyone else that might know Tay...I was wondering how strapping both of her feet to the same board would work, but it does and she is a pretty smooth rider!

And Ainslee...she surprised me as well, she and I made a run and she (almost) beat me down the hill....almost...better luck next time Ains...oh and I don't have pics of her becuase she was way too cool to hang with us...she just made run after run...after run jammin to her ipod as she went!

TAYLOR'S DANCE COMPETITION!

For those of you who wanted to see how exceptionally talented of a dancer Taylor is here you go...she is amazing! These are the two dances that she competed in this past weekend...."Porcelain Heart" and "Release"! Their group won two superior trophies for these performances...(that is top honors in their category) WAY TO GO TAY!

My mom and Uncle Andy took the kids up to the local sledding hill where they stayed and played all day! The hill had seperate lanes (this is to reduce the amount of injury while performing such a dangerous sporting event:) and an amazing rope tow, to haul everyone back up the hill (which reduces the wear and tear on ones legs...and lungs (this of course is all dependant on age right :)

Ainslee is growing up so quickly, she has been such a joy to have as a daughter, I do not know how I would have made it this far in school if it were not for all of her help! She is becoming such a sweet young woman, she is ALWAYS thinking of others and their happiness! I love to watch her and Lyssie play together, they share such a special bond...Lyssie just adores her (although I am sure that it sometimes grates on Ains' nerves just a little bit:) They are like two peas in a pod, most of the time inseperable...little BFF's!

The flock of geese that perpetually seem to land in the field behind the house....

Because we live so close to the river, the geese always seem to be flying right above the house and landing in our backyard! Dustin is such an avid hunter with all his little sidekicks Colton, Lyss, and Roxie, and it is because of this that he cannot resist the urge to shoot a goose here and there as they fly right above his garage....he says it beats waiting out in the cold all day in the blinds....and I don't blame him...so occasionally you hear the honking of the birds and then a couple of shots...and wa-la...dinner is on its way!

Christmas Morning (finally)!

Christmas was a little bit bittersweet this year, our tradition has been to celebrate Christmas Eve at Grandma Prina's house. However, this year she had a stroke on Christmas Eve and so we spent some of the day with her in the hospital hoping and praying for the best! The evening ended up being a little bit toned down due to the days events which was fine...the kids still really enjoyed their evening and we all were able to relax and truly enjoy each other's company...Grandma is doing much better now, she is able to walk and somewhat talk, although it is coming out mostly jibberish! They say she should have an almost complete recovery it is just going to take some therapy and a few months! Keep her in your prayers!
We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas this year!

The kids were getting antsy to play in all of our new snow so when Grandma Rosie called to invite us to go sledding we all jumped at the idea...so we all loaded into the suburban and headed to Shawnae's on the treacherous roads! Once we got there the wind was blowing like crazy but we didn't care, we bundled up and braved the storm! We pulled the kids behind the snowmobiles on sleds up and down the lane...then the kids decided to go across the road and hit the BIG slopes! So off we went again....they climbed up and down over and over....a few of us decided to stay toasty warm in the truck and just watch them have their fun!

Gingerbread Houses!

So we decided to have a little bit of fun and turn the gingerbread-house making into a contest! We divided ourselves into two teems...Angelina, Colton,and Taylor made up one team and Dustin, Ainslee, Lyssie, and myself made up the other team (of course the winning team:) The race was on to see who could build the best gingerbread house! There was candy stealing, blocking of views, cheating, lying, you name it we played dirty! Taylor even laughed so hard she blew milk out her nose...it was a great time had by all!

We went bowling for a big night out on the town! The only person to exceed 100 was "grandpa"! The rest of us well..it was just for fun...right? The night went pretty smoothly aside from the fact that Lyssie kept trying to grab the bowling balls as they shot back up the ramp and we continously had to warn her "not to do that you'll get your fingers smashed" (which luckily only happened once), I had to switch arms due to my bum shoulder giving out about halfway through my first game, Ange twisted her knee, and dad's back wasn't holding out all that well! What a bunch of degenerates! All in all it was good to get out of the house and enjoy each others company!

The kids are all getting excited for Christmas...and I have to admit I am too! I love the smells of the holidays...cinnamon...pine...freshly baked cookies...and the ambience of all the lights everywhere! We spent the weekend rearranging the house and putting up all the decorations! It was lots of fun! The countdown begins....

Turkey Day Fun!

This year my dad flew home from Alaska to help us celebrate Thanksgiving! We all spent the day relaxing and EATING (a few of my favorite things to do!) We went to Grandma and Grandpa Stouts for the first dinner, then to Grandma Sue's for the second! It is always nice to be able to slow down from the normal daily grind and give thanks for everything you have!

Once we filled our bellies with all the wonderful things to eat, we decided to go shake it up by riding our horse! We took all the kids and cousins down for some riding fun! Taylor is my little cowgirl, she loves to ride. Lyssie says she can ride him "whatever she wants to"! I however went to the rodeo with him...unfortunately no one grabbed the camera to videotape it! It was a fun afternoon...and no one was hurt! I am hoping that this post finds everyone in good health!

I decided that since I had the day off today Lyssie and I would enjoy a day of play:) We started the day by giving ourselves mani-pedis! We then went to see all of the techs at Minidoka where I do my clinical rotation, they were all sporting their cute halloween costumes. After that we had root-beer floats and hangurburgers at A&W. Once we had filled our bellies we went to storybook park to run off some of the sugar (in hopes that she might take a nap afterwards - this did not happen as she is crying at my feet this very moment!) It was good to get in some fresh air and spend some one-on-one time with my little angel.

We are receiving the biggest snow storm we've seen in a long time. It has been snowing for 2 days straight, and we are up to about 20 inches total so far...and it's still snowing!

The kids have been rushing in and out of the house to play in all the fresh powder...they can't get enough of it...

They only come in long enough to throw their sopping wet clothes in the dryer then off they go again...!

I can't believe my baby boy is ten years old! Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday he was a toddler. We celebrated Colton's birthday with the family...he was all smiles when opening all of his great presents! I think his favorite was the 20-gauge shotgun...now all he has to do is complete hunters ed. and he'll be legal (this is a scary and dangerous thought:) Dusty took him out and threw skeet for him, and man, what a little sharpshooter...there were very few that he actually missed!

So Alyssa had a little bit of an accident on the trampoline and knocked back her two front teeth which I had to force back into place (this was lovely)! It was so painful that she wouldn't eat, talk, or even close her mouth...so we eventually ended up in the hospital due to dehydration...which was quickly resolved with a little IV therapy! My poor little baby! It has been a about a month and she is doing much better now, although one of the teeth are turning a little bit grey...thank goodness they are just her baby teeth.

We went on our annual Lake Redfish trip at the beginning of August, it was a blast! There is just something about being out in nature that allows you to forget all the hustle and bustle that daily life can bring. Once we got there we did pretty much nothing but RELAX! The weather was absolutely beautiful for playing at the beach and being in the ice cold water! Oh and getting an awesome tan-one of my three goals for the vaca...:)

Colty went to Alaska to visit his Grandpa Tom and had a wonderful time! They did so many fun things...they panned for gold, camped, fished (and caught lots of them), went clam digging, took a float plane to an island, went on a high adventure trip, went on a deep sea fishing trip (on a glass bottom boat), saw tons of amazing scenery and lots of wildlife! He sures loves his grandpa...and misses him already!

Ainslee worked all summer long babysitting here and there to save money for her long awaited trip to Nantucket Island! She has wanted to go for the past three summers and was finally able to do so this year. She made the trip with her Aunt Katie, cousin Jack and Grandma Rosie. They all had so much fun just seeing the sites and hangin with each other at the beach....! They took lots of wonderful pictures so that they could have great memories and then the day before they left to come home, they lost their camera....bummer...oh well, they still have the memories and a few photos that Aunt Shawnae took and gave to them! My kiddos are growing up so fast...and becoming quite the little travelers...I am excited for them that they are able to have such great oppurtunities! (Although I do have to say I'm a little jealous....I wish I could go traveling!)

I completed my clinical rotation at St. Lukes in August. I learned so many things from all the amazing techs there...and had an all-together AWESOME experience! These are just a few of my new friends!

We went to Castle Rocks for a picnic on Mother's Day! It was a lot of fun...Lyssie and Colton both climbed and had a blast! They are both pretty good at it! Lyssie would climb to the first ledge with her daddy following her...and then when she would get to the top she would say "again again", so they would repel down and start over!

Sooooo I started my clinical experience about two weeks ago...and it completely rocks!!! I am loving every minute of it, and learning tons of new things! It is awesome to finally be doing what I've worked so hard for the past few years....it makes it all completely worth it!
